Glenwood Railroad Museum 413 7th Street Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 (970) 945-7044 The purpose of the railroad museum of the Western Colorado Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society is to obtain and display artifacts, books, documents and photographs relating primarily to railroads - Denver & Rio Grande Western, Colorado Midland, and other past and present railroads in this area. Use of this collection will focus on educating local persons and tourists on the history and significance of railroads in the historical and economic development of the area... Located in the historic 1904 Glenwood Springs railroad depot, the museum has photos and artifacts from seven historic area railroads, a book and gift shop, and an operating model-sized as well as a full-sized train car.
Free admission (donations welcome), opens noon - 4 p.m. daily and until 7 p.m. Fridays.
